Pre-Owned Schneider Symmar-S 135mm F5.6. This lens has been left with us by a long-standing and trusted client.

Providing an slightly wider alternative to the popular 150mm, the 135mm is still a highly usable lens for 5×4″ large format photography. Providing enough coverage for sufficient movement. The Symmar-S is a later design with multicoated optics.

The lens has been fully serviced which included removing fungus. This has stained the coating. However the lens also suffers from the dreaded ‘Schneideritis’, the white spots often seen on the inside of Schneider lenses of this ear. The result of the black paint painted onto the edges of the glass elements deteriorating over time. It’s unsightly but doesn’t affect the lens performance.

The shutter has also been serviced, and recalibrated. The aperture mechanism has also been cleaned and adjusted.

Due to the various issues with the lens, we would advise potential buyers to visit the showroom and examine the lens in person.
